3.0/3.2 head castings

hi Guys I've searched for a couple of days but can't find the answer to this question, I'm planing a 3.2 ss build from 3.0ltr and fully understand the varying port sizes but are the 3.0ltr head castings the same as the 3.2 in the areas around the ports to make full use of the increase in cc, basically is there enough meat to open a small port sc head out to at least 3.2 dimensions.

The 3.2 heads have shorter on the intake side.

Not quite. We tried that several years ago and they cracked due to lack of sufficient material that doesn't withstand the expansion & contraction cycles.

Small port SC heads can be safely CNC'ed to large port specs quite successfully and they actually flow more consistently than factory ones do.

Carrera heads flow even more air (and can be easily ruined by hand work), however you really need to acquire a set of those if you need power over 300 BHP.

Thanks Steve,so me aiming for the 280bhp mark could squeeze that out of sc heads with itb and twin spark

Using big-port SC heads with the right cams, CR, and exhaust, no problem at all. :)
