Anyone know about heads? Another 2.7 CIS question for the engine gurus

I have a 73 2.7S CIS engine. I am installing carbs and the engine is going into a 914-6.

Q. I was wondering if you can use CIS heads with other piston combinations. What is the combustion chamber shape like compared to other carb'd 6 engines of similar displacement?
