Removing AC Pulley

Folks,

Is there a way to remove the AC pulley with the engine in the car? I want easy access to the "v-belt" pulley.

Thanks!!

Probably easier to remove the pump from it's cradle? On the 964 variants (it may be the same on earlier models) it's only 4 bolts, then swing it out the way and sit it on an old pillow/cushioning material, with hoses still connected.

Pulley

The AC pulley is cast with the crank pulley. Mid 70s if the dealer installed the AC the pulley was added separately. Sometimes you can find a single pulley but you have to remove engine mount, sheet metal and muffler to get to pulley bolt.

So how does one replace the v-belt?

Removing the A/C belt first them open the fan pulley.

Yea about that... I found myself forcing the belt past the engine mount bolt head. Can't be good for the belt!
