Bosh Fuel injector seal kit issues

I got a six Bosh fuel injector seal kits for my 84 3.2 (944 110 901 00). I was told that I must have the wrong kit as only two o-rings fit. Pelican states "Injector Seal Kit, 911 (1984-89), 1 per injector, Note: Use O-Rings Only". I did some digging, and I a not the first person to run into this.

I need 6 of the plastic/teflon rings. Any other sources? Need this in a hurry and I am in Canada. The Porsche OEM catalog has the same part number for what I assume to be the same kit.

May contact witchhunter for guidance as I understand he has solved this issue for others.

Thanks for any help.

The part is available directly from Bosch. Go to a local independent shop and have them order the kit. If the shop has an account with Altrom, the part number is 1 287 010 704. Were your parts from Bosch or Victor Reinz? The VR kit has part number
15 36641 01.

Bosh. Thanks

Interesting that there were fit issues. The last set we ordered were fine... Wonder if there is some QC issues when they pick the parts for the kits....

Cheers

Well, I ordered parts as per your part number provided Jeff. I am crossing my fingers. Mind you, depending on where you purchase, it seems that parts numbers are interchangeable. At least the 944 guys have fitment issues with your suggested kit (1 287 010 704) so there is hope. Mind you, according to this site... the kits are the same regardless of the parts number for the kit I bought, or that you provided. Hmmmm...

I will be sure to bring an injector to my local NAPPA in order to verify it is not the same as the prior kit I got (just with a different parts number), and that it indeed does fit.

I suspect something is up if even Pelican states that you can only use the two o-rings for the injectors. One would figure they would get it right... if the parts I am looking for existed without buying new injectors.

Here is another thought... Did porsche use different injectors from 84-89? I have a 84.

Crap... 944 110 901 00 and 1 287 010 704 are the same kit... and the caps and teflon sleeves do not fit.

I will return the six sets. Any other thoughts?

Give one of the injector cleaning companies a call. They put new seals on when the clean the injectors.

Strange, that the parts are in the kit, but don't fit. Time for a little QC at Bosch. The 84-89 used the standard Bosch body injector for all years, same body as on the 944 and hundreds of other cars.

I am sure you have a FI specialist in your area, that would be my next step...

Sorry for the run around you are having with this!

Cheers

I meant to photograph the injectors and original and replacement parts. The original spacer was almost washer sized... Rather thin. The bosh part was lring shaped.

Check with VW dealer. The old fuel injectors use the same orings and spacer

My mechanic just made spacers using copper washers... But i do want to hunt this down as i am stubborn... But this will become a low priority fall/winter project.
