Plastic timing chain ramps

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to replace 3 middle plastic cam chain ramps without splitting the case on my 1979 911SC?

There's four chain ramps in the case, and they are installed
after the crankcase is mated up. You'll have to remove the
timing chain housings to get at and replace those ramps.

Question: why are you replacing the ramps?

I'm doing a top end rebuild (new pistons, cylinders & oil leak elimination project). Engine has low miles, so bottom end in good condition. But Dempsey rebuild book recommends replacing ramps as they become brittle with age. While I've got the crank cases off, I thought I should do this.
I see now there are 4 in the center sections (2 on either side). So there is no brown ramp in my 79 3.0? I keep seeing references to it in some threads.
Thanks for your help

Both are labeled 2 in the PET, but the brown has a different part number.

Once you have the timing chain housings cover off...You will then need to remove the 4 bolts that holds the ramps. (below the crank on both sides, see the blue tape on the right side as the location) When you go to reinstall them be sure to have something holding the ramps snug against the case. As you re-screw the bolts...It will push the ramps to the other side and will not seat properly.

Also why you are there....Replace the rubber O ring for the chain tensioner...

You do have the brown one...I forget the location but Waynes book does have a picture of the location.

Brown, which is a lower height ramp goes in the case right side bottom. Chain boxes should be off so it should be easy as the chains are hanging. Do your bottom studs too you'll find some on the floor when you torque the heads.

Oh, and the longer side of the ramps goes toward the gear.
