One Pulled Headstud on a 2.7

I have one bottom head stud on cylinder No.2 that is pulling out the case and will not torque up. All of the others have torqued up fine.
The motor is an unknown 2.7S in my 1974 track car. I have no intention of rebuilding it, I will either buy a 2.7 with a solid redone bottom end
if I can find one or build a 2.7 on an early aluminium case if not.
Unfortunately a later aluminium case motor is not an option in order to stay in the class that I want to run in.

What are the chances that the motor will last a couple of race meetings while I try and sort out an alternative, or am I wasting my time trying to run it?

I would think it is no worse than a broken dilivar on an SC which the multitude seem to think it's alright to drive until you have lots of broken ones.

If you don't care about the engine run it until it fails to perform to your standards. That could be 10 minutes, 10 laps or ten hours.
As for a later aluminum case : IE SC if size is the only issue, you can run 92mm cylinders in an SC case to produce a 2.8. If 2.7 is legal 2.8 should be as well. Of course it depends on the organization.
