I had the engine overhauled and won't be putting it back in the car for a few months. Should I make sure and turn it over a few times every couple of weeks or is there something I should spray in the cylinders

Interesting question, I would like to know too

I've had newly rebuilt back up engine stored in my garage for years with no problems. I turn it over every 3-months manually, I loosen the spark plugs and secure them when done. My garage is insulated so temperature year round is comfortable and I'm not worried about moisture, I cover it well with clean blankets. Good luck.

If it's damp at all where the engine will be stored, I like fogging oil sprayed in the spark plug holes and in the ports.

I used a fogging spray and desiccant cylinders that plugged into the spark plug holes, resprayed the cylinders and rotated the engine every 4 to 6 months and didn't have any rust or frozen rings after 12 years.

Thanks for the advice. I have been turning it over about every month or so. If it goes much longer I will look into the fogging oil.

You need the fogging oil ordinary oil collects at the bottom, right now you are scraping the oil that is on the cylinder walls off.

Fogging oil can be found at your local Flaps's store
