PMO or Jenvey?
So I am getting parts together for my 1986 3.2 engine rebuild using euro barrels and pistons, upgraded cam etc and I am going to use electronic fuel injection using individual throttle bodies.
Any opinions on PMO versus Jenvey? price is about the same. |
I have a set of Jenvey's on my '87 Carrera. If you look at the most recognized tuners, Rothsport, Singer, etc, etc, they all use Jenvey ITB's. To my knowledge, PMO are using the same offset spacing that Porsche used on their Webers and MFI systems, where there is a bend in the manifold on Cylinder 1, 3, 4 and 6, and only cylinders 2 and 4 have straight down manifolds. This might cause uneven filling of the cylinders. The Jenvey's are straight down on all six cylinders. If the price is the same, the Jenveys is a no-brainer!

Jenvey all the way!

Jenvey rules!!!

OK, so chatting to the race engine builder, he said I would make more low end power using a single throttle body and plenum setup. Any views? Does anyone make these with injection intakes?
The engine is going in a heavy VW van so low end power is more important, that in addition to limited height above the engine makes it an interesting challenge. Any opinions or pointers to who supplies these kind of intakes? |
so.. use the 3.2 intake?
|
My engine didn't come with the intake and I wondered if there was an updated option?
|
The Carrera 3.2 intake is considered a pretty good one as stock intakes go. I saw a used one here on the board recently for like $500, so not so expensive either compared to aftermarket options. If it's low end performance you want, that may be your best option.
