Anyone want to buy used DRC valve springs?
(12) DRC valve springs with steel retainer. Good for 7500 rpm redline. 2100 miles. $250.
Is there even a market for very lightly used valve springs? Or is it not worth the risk? I only ran 2100 street miles on these springs, and only ran above 6000 rpm for maybe a total of 10 minutes during my break-in(s) , and never above 7000. So there should not be any real fatigue cycles on them. I don't need the stiffer springs for 99.9% of my driving. My previous plan was to allow 3rd gear to 7000-7100 on No-Name Straight at LRP, and the commensurate over-rev on the crest of the Uphill. It seemed like a good upgrade at the time. Now, I 'm thinking of going back to stock springs and hold it to less than 6,700 rpm redline and shifting. Partially due to the LRP noise restrictions have me worried that I'll need to shift to 4th to keep the sound in check. The new cam really honks out the intakes, and that was an unexpectedly loud consequence of the cam profile and overlap. That and a worn out muffler.... ![]() BTW, I posted in the parts classified section, and it sank like a stone. I figure the Engine Rebuilder is the target audience.
