have recently placed my order with Henry at Supertec. I recommend Henry to all, he has been very helpful and extremely patient with my many questions.
Case is at the engine reconditioners. The Engine Reconditioners have said that they will measure the case and if needed will line bore. Is there anything to look out for on this? Cheers, |
Well it's been a long journey and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel...
Can't wait to see what the next few weeks bring...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3efe666849.jpg Sent from my ONEPLUS A3010 using Tapatalk |
Aw Nigel - you're denying us the pretty pictures of the engine reassembly?

Sorry for not keeping this going. Been busy with life. Time just doesn’t wait....
Cars been on the road and going great. Pretty happy with the result thus far. Am looking into a track day soon. Wooohoooohttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...71398a470e.jpg The character of the engine and gearbox combination is sensational. The engine with is so rev happy after 3500, it just wants to keep going. I’m really enjoying it and just want to keep it in that middle to high range all the time. The lower ratios on 3&4&5 also keep it playful which is exactly what I was after. Next step is to rebuild the carbs. I didn’t want to rebuild the carbs with the engine as I knew the carbs worked so just rejetted to break the engine in. So now it’s time to pull them apart. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Doing the same a year or so later!

I will be doing the same with my T. My 914-6 has a 2.5 LS (Solex grind + cams) with 200 hp and runs great. So I need the T to keep up. |
71 911 T Drivetrain Rebuild
Earlier this year i rebuilt my Weber’s and once that was done there was just 1 thing left to do.
Dyno time, and yesterday was the day. Super happy with the result. The car made 170bhp at the wheels at the limiter of 6000. The engine tuner said it’s looking good to go further so come back with a higher limiter. Haha I’m torn between putting in a higher limiter for the Solex cams or leaving as it is. I’m really happy with the result but keen to know more also. Comparing Power figures without a first go are somewhat pointless so this is my start line which I’m really happy about. Air fuel ratio and timing are good. the dyno isn’t known for giving happy read outs and I was not expecting this much at all. Yay! [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Congratulations, Nigel! I’m glad that you’re pleased with the results. That is a significant increase over stock. Is it possible to post your dyno graph, with your final engine configuration and carb jettings?
