Case Cleaning-is there a safe mechanical way?

Ive scrubbed the mating surfaces with scotch brite pads and brake cleaner and they are looking pretty good but cosmetically the outside of the case has some spots and discoloration I'd like to clean up. Any drill or or electric power tool type attachments that I can safely use assuming I stay away from the mating surfaces? Thanks

Ive seen some good results with ultrasonic cleaning with the proper solutions if you can find someone in your area that can do it. Check YouTube there's some videos of people doing engine blocks et.
