2.4 w/ CIS refresh ?
Guys, just pulled the engine . I drove it home over a year ago it ran a little rough ,have been rebuilding all suspension items .
Don't know history of engine but noticed a leak at cylinder base on #2 and #5. Want to refresh and keep work to top end. Thanks for recommendations for this CIS engine.

Re torque the heads.
Guides go on the early cars, the CIS T has cast iron cylinders and cast Pistons Bruce |

Do you know any history on the engine, mileage, previous work?
I bought mine back in late'87 with about 120,000 miles. No real work had been ever been done to it. 2 Years and 10,000 miles later the chain tensioner on one side failed, and I had the heads redone. 3 intake and 3 exhaust valves had to be replaced, along with all the guides. Pressure fed tensioners and new chains were installed. Depending on your engines history, top end is probably all you need. My current intent is for a complete rebuild this spring, even though it is probably not needed. I am going to have case savers installed, line hone with new bearings. Even though the 2.4 7R case is not stressed like the later 2.7 engines, the magnesium case is soft and I want to make sure it lasts. I will also install some 2.7 cis S cams I purchased recently.
