factory manual image for rebuilding 930 tensioners
I'm looking for rebuild/install instructions for the turbo chain tensioners.
I've got the rebuild kit 911.105.901.01 but the instructions I found don't have images and I can't recall where that little ball goes. anyone have some images/text from factory manual for rebuilding these? |
I don't think the manual has any instructions for rebuilding them. The manual only has stuff specific to the 930. The tensioners are not unique to the 930.

I found this by doing a google search for "930 cam chain tensioner exploded view" - not sure it helps you, though . . .

that's the later style Carrera pressure fed tensioner. I like the "exploded view" keywords, will try that. |
I think this is what you are looking for:

thanks Andy! that's great, but I think that for an earlier version the 901 vs the thin boss late 930. it's missing the little spring to hold the ball.
do you have another ? |
found it. would be nice it it had descriptions, like yours. so if you do have a copy, feel free to post it here! :)

Good info!!

This exploded view is in the Haynes manual.
Someone of the engine gurus here has also written an instruction, like 10-15 years ago. I remember that I found them when I did this. |
I made this little M6 tool to help hold the plunger down

Great info! Is this the only special tool needed for the job? Besides the rebuild kit? Thanks |
I also bent an old top spring which I used to push the little ball down. this allows you to continue to fill the chamber with oil until it's stiff. https://www.dropbox.com/s/vrmj66rlky...jpg?dl=0&raw=1
