Machine shop in western NY state or Toronto area?

Anything special about rebuilding 930 rods that a machine shop that does other automotive/diesel work can't handle? Anyone know of a machine shop in the Buffalo/Rochester, even Toronto area that does a lot of Porsche work?

A plain Jane shop should have no problem getting them round again.
I would stop there with the plain jane .

Most regular machine shops can do rods, you'll need to get the small end bushings for them. You can get those from our host.

Make sure you take a good piston pin with you and tell them that on the small end you expect a good slip fit with a tight tolerance.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.

OK, thanks. I have a shop I've used for other engines, they do a lot of work on auto, diesels and bikes so I'll talk to them. The heads and rockers are going to cgarr.

I've taken a few things here : http://www.mcquilleneng.com/
I purchased the parts and they did my 2.7 rod bushings install.

Ask for Carl he's the owner. They mainly do American iron but they will do VW/Porsche stuff too.
I was at his shop 4 months ago and they where building a type 4 there.

Thanks, it looks like a first rate shop judging by the equipment they have and the work they do. I think I'll take my rods there. I've got a 1965 VW double cab pickup that needs an engine job (it's on the list) so I know where to take it when I get to it.
