Suggestions for a warmed over SWB

Hello guys

I recently acquired a '68 mag crankcase in excellent condition and I'd like to build an engine using this case. I know that many SWB guys prefer aluminum sand cast cases but I'm not a fan of carbs.

Since I already have an 005 MFI pump that I've saved for a long time, I'd like to use a specification that will work with this type of pump

Do you know if 005 MFI is compatible with 901/02 (67S/68S)?

Can '68S heads be drilled for MFI ports or would it better to look for later MFI 2 liter heads?

Which velocity stacks are best for 901/02? 2.0E or 2.0S?

Thanks

I'd do what I did again: DC30 cams. They wil work well with that E pump, as well. '68 heads are easy to drill for MFI injectors and would choose E stacks and TBs over S. The smaller bore will be a better match for the cam/pump combo. That combo in a light SWB hauls ass - I can run down much faster cars on twisty roads with this combo. And it is a blast to drive and makes all the right noises.

005 is actually an S pump, which is what i've got and I'd rather keep it than change it for an 006. Will DC30 cams, E stacks & TB's still work with S pump?

Good to hear that 68 heads are easy to drill for MFI injectors.

You're right. My brain was switched off yesterday. 001 is early 69S, 005 is late. DC30s will still be fine, as they are closer to S than E. I'd still use E stacks.
