Question about air pump removal

I am removing the air pump from my 79 SC. I've removed the network of injectors into the exhaust heads but I can't figure out how to remove this piece from the underside of the engine. It is held in place by two large nuts at the back of the engine just under the top of the engine compartment/the air pump.

Any tips to loosen these nuts so that I can remove the tube that delivered air to all of the exhaust ports?

Pb,

After you have disconnected the upper connection of the air valve, use two (2) open wrenches (36 mm) to loosen it from the spider plumbing for the air injectors. Spray penetrating oil prior to removal at the connection below the air valve shown in the picture. Access might be limited with the OEM muffler installed. Have you tried to loosen the air valve from the top?

Tony
