Zenith vs Webers on 2.7 carb conversion

Hi

I am doing a full rebuild of my 2.7 CIS including a carb conversion. The choice stands between Zenith and Weber 40 mm carbs. The engine spec is relatively aggressive with high compression pistons and RSR-ish cams. Views on preference or will they both do the job?

Thanks!

I could not get Zeniths to perform adequately on my 2,5 motor. I gave up and changed to Webers.

Webers have parts, jets and venturis etc readily available. Zeniths do not.

There are some on this board who claim to have had success with Zeniths, maybe they will chime in.

There are now plenty of jets, and chokes available for Zenithsand they can perform well with a bit of patience.

Thanks! Any difference in power between the two?

I doubt there is any difference because you'll end up with the same size venturis and jets for the same AFR. 40mm zenith vs 40mm weber.

The parts are available on eBay via alfa1750.
