Suggestions for a warmed over SWB
Hello guys
I recently acquired a '68 mag crankcase in excellent condition and I'd like to build an engine using this case. I know that many SWB guys prefer aluminum sand cast cases but I'm not a fan of carbs. Since I already have an 005 MFI pump that I've saved for a long time, I'd like to use a specification that will work with this type of pump Do you know if 005 MFI is compatible with 901/02 (67S/68S)? Can '68S heads be drilled for MFI ports or would it better to look for later MFI 2 liter heads? Which velocity stacks are best for 901/02? 2.0E or 2.0S? Thanks Last edited by SWB newbie; 04-05-2016 at 07:18 AM.. |

I'd do what I did again: DC30 cams. They wil work well with that E pump, as well. '68 heads are easy to drill for MFI injectors and would choose E stacks and TBs over S. The smaller bore will be a better match for the cam/pump combo. That combo in a light SWB hauls ass - I can run down much faster cars on twisty roads with this combo. And it is a blast to drive and makes all the right noises.

You're right. My brain was switched off yesterday. 001 is early 69S, 005 is late. DC30s will still be fine, as they are closer to S than E. I'd still use E stacks.
