new engine problems/questions
 

Hi.
My newly rebuilt engine pegs the oil pressure gauge. Besides gauge and sender, what might be the cause?
Also, the engine seems too tight. How long should it take to break in? Could the excessive oil pressure cause it to be too tight?

Need a little more information. What oil are you using. What happens before you start? How long have you run the engine? Why do you say it feels tight?

Did you replace the pressure regulator springs and pistons?

Full rebuild or topend.

Was there an engine failure before the rebuild?

If the wire is disconnected from the pressure sender it will go full scale. Are you certain the wire has not been damaged?
