SC camshaft regrind - PA?

Hi all,

Just finished tear down of my lovely 81SC. I've already recieved welcome help from forum members here (thanks Tony!).

I'm looking at a Euro upgrade on my engine, so new Mahle 9.8:1 p&c. Heads being redone. I'm keeping the cis and I believe I have the small port heads.

From reading here I think a 964 or an 'S' cam profile would work well? Can you guys recommend a place to do the work? Ideally on the east coast.

Many thanks all.

Just get some fresh 20/21 cams from webcam. You'll be happy.

James,

The day after you visited me, another Pelican member came over to deliver something to me. This is what a $6K package look like today.

Decide what type of cam you need. The last five (5) engines I rebuilt had cams made by WebCams including the current one. There could be a good local cam grinder but I am fully satisfied with WC.

Take your time and don't need the cam tools until after my cylinder heads and crankshaft are done. For the meantime, I am spending so much time cleaning and cleaning engine parts. It seems that it never ends. After you cleaned the crankcase, cam towers, chain housings, etc. you find another spot to clean.

Ok thanks guys.

Tony - yes I'm currently cleaning as well! And I've found my new favorite hobby, head stud removal. What fun. No broken studs (yet!) but all lower still divlar...
