Need an opinion on partial repair of 3.2

Have a 1987 3.2. Bought the car with 82k on the clock, had a good Porsche shop do inspection. Did leak down an compression test. Wet test showed rings good. Leak down shoes 35% on number three exhaust valve only. Compression in all cyl 150 and even except # 3 130 lbs compression. I bought the intending to do overhaul. Financial situation has changed and can not afford complete top in 95k on clock now. Uses 1gt of oil every 450 miles. during valve adjustment number 3 exhaust valve has tightened .003 twice in last 12000 miles. does not rough idle, has great power, all service records show 5k interval oil changes. I can't afford o complete overall. Need opinion what about repairing or replacing number three cylinder head and moving on. And what would that repair only roughly cost. Thanks

It would be hard to conceive an exhaust valve sinking in its seat .003 every 12 K.
I am not there to witness it......
If it is..something nasty will happen pretty soon.
But generally, when a valve is burnt it drops the number by a whole lot.
I guess you have a valve not quite seating ?
Its a slippery slope...but you could do one valve .
The oil i would guess is related to worn guides.
I thought the 3.2 guides were good for a lot more than 150K ?
I could do one head for ya.
Or you could just sell the car to me. I need a project .

At 95k you'll need 12 new guides, valve job, re seal. You certainly don't want to take a chance of breaking a valve, then you do have problems,
Once a valve job is done, I run a compression on a warm 3.2 it comes in at 170 to 180 across the motor.
While you're there will wear you out but youll find you need to update the bearings on the clutch fork shaft of the G50.

Have done all clutch work 10k ago, I think your right, I love the car time to bite the bullet, live in Los Angeles, for a complete top end what do you think price range should be. Also any recommendations for best shops in Los Angeles to do work. Thanks

I have used Bruce, (flat6pac), even with shipping from Ca to North Carolina (which to my surprise, was very simple), he was WAY more reasonable than any local shop. Worth talking to him to get an opinion and numbers. Good luck, Tim

Here's another perspective from a near identical thread.

The caveat is all the labor required.
Next something else will raise its ugly head and stare you dwn. (whilst there )
If funds are not available to be committed , the engine gets slid back under the car out of the way, and it becomes another project for another day or year.
Pretty soon its a project of nuts and bolts for sale.
