2.2 S & 2.4 S piston specs info..

Does anyone have or would know where I could find the 2.2 S & 2.4 S piston specs ?
Looking to see if the pistons that I have are within spec.
I tried google search on this and didn't find any usable info.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Luke

I believe it's in the small handbook. If you can glass bead the face of the piston there is a stamping telling the new casting size, like 83.97.

Hi Bruce,

I was able to locate my tech book. I found the group size on the piston but nothing like the actual o/d. The tech book states 83.95 + or - .005 . The piston groves are throwing me off. The numbers that I'm getting don't jive with the book. It could be the tool that I'm using to measure the grove with too?

Curious to know the answer to this thread as well regarding 2.4S pistons "in spec" range :)

According to the book the ring side clearance (wear limit) is .2mm. Which is ~.008".
I would not use a piston that had .004" ring side clearance or more.

Install a new ring and try to fit a .004" feeler gauge beside the ring.
