1979 930 wrist pin circlips?
I've spent an hour trying to find these on here, does anyone know where they are? Called the 800 number 3 times, tired of the elevator music. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply but that is a transmission retainer clip.

Found them on another site. I'd like to give these guys my business but I'm not spending an hour on the website and another 20 min on hold for $3 of parts.

I'm assuming searching under "wrist pin clip" did not result in finding them in 10 seconds, like it did for me just now?

You must be on another pelican site than I am. I put in wrist pin clip and wrist pin circlip. The first thing that comes up is the Stomski tool and lots of other circlips but nothing that goes in a piston. Either that or I am blind.

Sometimes I skip the part where you say what year and model. Seems the search results can be broader. That might be it.

That's the wrong size for a turbo.

Use "clip" not "circlip"
This says it's ok for 79 turbo ![]() Last edited by VFR750; 03-22-2016 at 04:26 PM.. |

82 911 would use 22mm. Turbo from 78 uses 23mm clips.

Does it matter? This is a spring clip.
It is much larger than 22 or 23 mm in free state diameter. 1mm less compression shouldn't make a difference. |

I wouldn't think it would make a difference but I wonder why the 22 mm one didn't pop up for the turbos?

I think sometimes the filter for year and model exclude too many parts.
If you search under my 82sc, and then go into "more info" you should see the list where the part fits other models. Yours is listed there. |

The big ones are heavier wire on some applications. Order for the size of the pin bore.

I guess I'll see what I end up with when I get the Pelican order. I kept the old ones so will compare the new to old. I saw no reason to remove the original clips on one side so ordered eight to allow for two disappearing into never-never land during installation.

Thought I'd update this. Went to put the cylinders/pistons on tonight and I compared the circlips that i bought (N-012-278-1) to my old ones that came out. The OD of the new ones is smaller than the ones that came out. Old ones measure 26 mm ( for 23 mm pin) , new ones are 25 mm (for 22 mm pin) . The correct part number for the 23 mm pin clips like on the '79 930 is 900-908-019-00. They are called "circle clips", go figure. Would the aftermarket 22mm clips work, I don't know but I'm not using them. Pelican, describe these correctly as "circlips" so they show up in a search!!
