What the Heck is this and did it come from the Engine?
So I was preparing to install my D-side cams and after I removed my Carrera oil line from over the chain box to the cam tower. I started to clean the area and found this weird thing just sitting at the bottom of the #3 rocker/valve port. WTF? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psr6py0cwd.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psnyvwhmwq.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psx3jfifok.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psdwsyij8u.jpg Is this part of the engine? I can not imagine PAG would use plastic inside the engine, right? I tried to fit it into the banjo bolt thinking it was some sort of innerds of a check valve??? Nope, no fit. I was working on my step-son's Infiniti, maybe it dropped and bounced into the engine? I was pretty careful but poop does happen  TIA fellas, Jim |
Dowel pin of some sort. The cam-shaft to sprocket one should be 6mm in diameter and the nr.8 bearing should be 8mm. So it is not one of the obvious.

Both cam pins in place
Did not split case. I think it is an errand tool or debris from the Infiniti |
The pin that holds the #8 nose bearing in place

It's plastic?
But how the heck did it get there with case not being split ? |

Good thing it's not in the engine anymore right? ;) |

I don't know, the dowel looks like it is metal versus the thing I found which is black plastic material. 900-012-061-00-M100 |
