Timing Chain with Master Link
Any chance this timing chain will work with my early 95 3.6l 993 engine? It has been suggested I change them but only did top-end rebuild (down to exhaust vlv guides, honed cylinders, piston rings etc.). Ready to put chain cases back on/together at this point.
911-105-529-51-M48 Only shows as 91-92 Turbo on Pelican website, but it was offered as only? chain they had with master link. Thanks, |
Were the early 964 turbos built on the older 930 engine case and so on? And only the last year of the 964 were they up to 3.6 liters? I am dubious that this part is interchangeable with a 993 engine.
But just look at the respective parts catalogs - don't rely on Pelican's retail offerings for something like this. You can download the 993 parts catalog from the Porsche website to get the part #. In fact, I just looked at the copy I have saved and the 993 cams have, mirabilu dictu, 993 prefixes. So unlikely this chain will work. Someone out there knows just why - some different construction, or length, or something. But Porsche doesn't seem to change part numbers if the parts are the same. |
