Timing Chain with Master Link
 

Any chance this timing chain will work with my early 95 3.6l 993 engine? It has been suggested I change them but only did top-end rebuild (down to exhaust vlv guides, honed cylinders, piston rings etc.). Ready to put chain cases back on/together at this point.

Only shows as 91-92 Turbo on Pelican website, but it was offered as only? chain they had with master link.

Were the early 964 turbos built on the older 930 engine case and so on? And only the last year of the 964 were they up to 3.6 liters? I am dubious that this part is interchangeable with a 993 engine.

But just look at the respective parts catalogs - don't rely on Pelican's retail offerings for something like this. You can download the 993 parts catalog from the Porsche website to get the part #. In fact, I just looked at the copy I have saved and the 993 cams have, mirabilu dictu, 993 prefixes. So unlikely this chain will work.

Someone out there knows just why - some different construction, or length, or something. But Porsche doesn't seem to change part numbers if the parts are the same.
