hydraulic tensioner issue - periodic
 

second time now today that the left side hydraulic cam chain tensioner seems to not do its job consistently but instead cause a clattering noise. Both times the issue went away after a brief stop and restart. Does not seem likely bit no doubt the clattering noise both times came from lkeft chain cover area and was evident above 1200 rom. Then disappeared after a 30 min stop. How strange is that ?

Your going to have to visually check it out. It is possible that the nipple cage came undone so the pressure will be inconsistent. This seems to be an issue with the later hydrolic tensioners vs. OEM.
