Can you help identify this exhaust system?
I'm resurrecting a disasembled 3.3 turbo motor found on craigslist. Needless to say I don't know what I'm missing. The exhaust manifolds I cannot find a refence to identify.
Can you tell me year/model this design was used? Thank you! Rayhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1473829400.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1473829413.jpg |
Looks like 76/77 thermal reactor replacement going into stripped heat boxes. The 4 bolt flange is factory. After the wast gate perch the exhaust going through the wast gate would flow into the muffler
The later style using right and left side heat boxes like SC/Carrera is more efficient Bruce |
It looks like a customized system that replaced the original exhaust with EGR like this one.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1473848968.jpg You might want to consider replacing this with a stock non-EGR system like this. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1473849043.jpg PM me for more details |
It's really strange seeing that early exhaust, with thermal reactor replacements, on a "non sump plate" case. I suppose the person the OP bought the engine from must have sold the much better system separately?

Thank you for your generous answers!
The motor was completely stripped and parts in a zillion boxes. Seems like this is a mismatch. Maybe a new exhaust is needed.... any recommendations? OBX? |
I have most of the parts to restore the exhaust to the OEM USA configuration. PM me if interested.

Thanks Tom.
