69' 911 Oil Pump 'damage assessment needed'
The picture explains it... Whoever was here last must have torqued it down so tight, it cracked! I'd hate to just slap a bolt on it and call it done, but I'm also hesitant to buy an entirely new part. I'd like constructive guidance please!
This is a stock 2.0L 1969 911. ![]() |

I would do the oil bypass and install the 4 rib pump. You got almost 50 years of running off that one.

Henry at Supertec said he has all kinds of pumps on the shelf that he will rebuild and do his tricks on.
At minimum I agree with Bruce, get a later pump.

Is the pump housing Alu or magnesium?
If it is Alu, it is perhaps worth considering to weld and build up the broken ear and then then machine it square and true? (Assuming the inside of the pump is still in good shape. The risk of course is heat distortion of the housing resulting in binding of the pump gears against the housing. Newer type pump replacement vs uncertainty of repair of existing pump? I would be inclined to just upgrade to a newer type pump (piece of mind etc.)
