Olies is a good call. Probably want the oil bypass mod and Case Savers instaled while you are at it.

Before anything is done the bore diameter should be measured. Often you'll find that it has actually become smaller and if that's the case it can be line honed-not bored into spec without having to surface the case halves. You do need to put an alignment plug in the intermediate shaft bore
to get a good result though. Most of the rigidity is in the mainline and a few out on the perimeter
isn't a big deal. I do usually install locating sleeves towards the center as a precaution.

Good advice from Mark.If the straight edge is flat on the case halves sometimes all you need is a clean up line hone.Fred
