Welcome to the clubhouse. If might help you get some answers if you were a bit less vague in what you are asking.

What are you asking? Stock 3.2 build with 964 cam or how big can you go? 3.2 to 3.4 is a common upgrade with 964 cams. CR can be kept to at 9ish to not need to twin plug the engine.

Im in the process of rebuilding the engine. camshaft was reground to a 964 spec. Engine is stock . Need to know what piston compression ratio, mm.. Planning to replace it with JE pistons. There is one on ebay which I thing is a very good deal.

I believe you might be best served by talking with a reputable engine shop/builder that knows these engines well. Trying to cobble together an engine with parts from eBay that may or may not be a good deal, may result in a less than satisfactory result. Talk to an engine shop and tell them exactly what you want/expect from your engine, type of driving, etc. Let them spec it for you.

As an example, I had my '87 3.2 rebuilt stock with the exception of switching to 964 cams. I then added a Steve Wong chip. Aside from that the motor is a stock rebuild. I wanted to maintain factory reliability and drivability while adding a couple more HP. Good luck.

I just did a 3.4 with 10:1 JE and 20/21 cams..sounds real good.
