Slater,
Try a search in the tech forum. I am in the process of rebuilding my motor and asked this question a while ago: help me build an engine for my 72T. 2.4? (2.7?) Check it out. And no, I haven't decided what to do yet. I am leaning towards a high compression E spec MFI motor, which allows me to retain my stock heads and should be a bit more tractable for the street. But my mind changes (literally) daily so I haven't bought any parts yet. Also, buy Wayne's new rebuild book and read it a few times before youy get started. There is a wealth of knowledge in there. Thanks for all the great info guys. I think I will be in the same boat soon.
I have a 70 2.2t motor for a core with a great pair of zeinith carbs, has the 3r case. Looks pretty good so far, going to check it out as well as posible without a complete tear down. I'm very interested in the upgrades listed in the other thread, the 2.5 or 2.7 conversion. Has anyone got any experiece with KB pistons in porsche motors? Don't even know if they make any for porsche sizes, but I've had good luck with them in 914 motors.
