Installing case saver in SC case

I will be installing a case saver for one of my head studs on the case. These threads got a little damaged while taking off the broken stud and when you put a new stud in the hole it has a lot more "wiggle" then the others.

I plan on mounting one half of the case on a milling machine, Mount a dial indicator in the collet and rotate it on the surface where the cylinder mounts, get the case square with the collet, and go to town.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this process? Do I just drill and tap a hole to the proper depth and install the case saver?

thanks-Matt
