Generic rebuild question
I just acquired a set of rods. They appear to have been reconditioned. On the side of each rod in permanent marker someone has written "N-T". Having never seen this before I was wondering if this is something done to identify any specific detail from the reconditioning of the rod.
Thanks, Kevin P

NT sometimes means non destructive testing in welding circles.

With out a doubt it's NOT NFG (that was my first wife, nasty fat girl). I guess it wouldn't be uncommon for rods to be X-Ray'd or magnaflux'd. I sure like that answere better than NFG.

could be "Never Tested" hard to say what the scribblings on rods mean. Usually the scribblings are numerical, giving rod weights and groups.
Ive never seen "N-T" on a rod Tim

Well could be good or bad.. "Not Tested" or "Nitrided" (meaning rehardened).
Frankly unless you're sure of the history, better have them checked before using them...
