Hi...You never mentioned what year it is? The grill states that it is 1967. The hood scoop is not stock nor is the black pin striping on the hood sides including the sides.

Does it have 4 stud wheels or 5 stud? If a 4 stud it is a inline six and if it has 5 studs it is a 289 CU in V8. It likely also has a 3 speed standard or is an automatic. The 302 V8 was first used in the 1968 models. The V8's valve covers where painted blue.

BTW, if it is a one owner car, how is it that the owner does not even know what size the motor in it is?.. If a car dealer told you that, then get him to prove it.

It appears that you have not even seen the car in person...

An inline 6 is just that... One long valve cover with 6 plugs wires... A V8 is also just that - Its shaped in a V with each side having shorter valve covers with 4 spark plugs per side. Both engines have blue valve covers...As for it being a one owner 85 yr. old, little lady owning it after 50 years of ownership, she would have to know by now whether it has a six or an eight cylinder engine.

As others have already stated... I would sugest that you delete your post's and go to a Mustang site. The car you are looking at is by no means a rare car..They sold millions of them, and for the first few years, including a '67, the majority of them were inline sixes and cost around $2,300.00 new. If it was a fully loaded GT or say a 1970 'Boss', then that would be completly another matter altogether as chalk and cheese' is... Base 6's, or with V8's, are not a very expensive car to purchase.
