Motor swap

Pulled my 3.0 from my 83 with 147.000 because of broken head bolts. Can someone tell me what is best. Rebuild or use as a core for a 993.

The engine rebuild forum may be a place to do some research. 911 Engine Rebuilding Forum - Pelican Parts Technical BBS

Lots to consider.

Do you want to just fix it? Do you want to do "upgrades"? Is the motor in otherwise good condition? Who is doing the work?

How much money do you have to spend? Does it need to pass smog?

Can you find a 993 motor that doesn't need to be rebuilt? Have you researched what it takes to install a 993 motor in an SC?

Your 3.0 L is original to the car? If so it is more valuable if you keep it a numbers matching car.

The 3.0 L engine is a great motor. A rebuild can be fun, and you can get a little more power. Perhaps look at the many different option for rebuilding a 3 L.
