seal ID help
Can't figure out where these two "sleeves" go. Came in my gasket kit for '70 2.2e. About 1"long, tapered one end, material like plastic drinking straws.
Never came across these on disassembly. Thanks ![]() |

They slide over the valve stem to protect the valve stemseal during fitting. Without using those, the seal might be damaged by the slots in the valve stem

Correct - typically these little 'kitty condoms' are used by the machine shop when they reassemble the heads, so you don't typically use them...
