#8 Seal
I ran into a problem installing the seal in the #8 bearing. The rubber perimeter coating "caught" on the notch. A portion of the rubber peeled back as the seal went in. Dummy me, I went back to Wayne's book and noted I should have put a bead of Curl T behind the seal. The damaged seal plus no suggested sealant = new Kaco seal ordered from Pelican.

You don't need a sealant there you just need to be careful pushing in the seal. Make sure there isn't a burr protruding into the circle where the seal goes at the bottom of the notch. Also push that side down slightly before the other side. In other words if you can't keep the seal perfectly square while driving it in, favor that side slightly.
