Oil passage plugs in crank??

I am ready to install my crank back in the case and was reading Bruce Anderson's book where he talks about the need to reinstall the crank oil passage plugs when the cranks has been worked.
What the heck is he talking about ?? Wayne mentions nothing about these in his book.
#2 Wayne says the oil pump seals on top used the green oring seals what about the large one underneath?

These plugs close the holes that were needed to provide access to drill the oil galleys or passages that pump the oil through the core of the crankshaft to the rod journals. After manufacturing the plugs are installed. After polishing or grinding the crank some rebuilders remove the plugs to enable a more complete cleaning and removal of any polishing or grinding compound that entered the oil galleys. However, if the new plugs are not properly installed then one may have oil flow problems. The other method is to use pipe cleaners followed by throughly blowing out the oil galleys with aerosol brake cleaner directed into the small holes in the journals through one of the small (usually red or black) plastic tubes that come with the aerosol cans. I used two cans of brake cleaner before I was fully satisfied I had the oil galleys cleaned. Jim

I do discuss this extensively in the machine shop chapter of the book. Having your crank rehardened requires you to have the plugs redone. Simply having the crank polished doesn't require the replacement of the plugs. What did you have done to your crank?

It was ultrasonicly cleaned, magnifluxed and polished. I just want to make darn sure I not leaving something out. Two of the counterweights have unpluged holes in them out towards the end and if you blow air throuhg the crankshaft it comes our of these holes. Is this normal??
