My nikasil detector
I picked up a 1985 3.2L to build a turbo motor. I was curious what cylinders I have , so I put a magnet in the end of some vacuum hose and used a piece of brass tube to guide it through the spark plug hole. Once in the cylinder, I used the piece of welding rod to push the hose out of the tube. With its flexibility restored, the magnet can seek the cylinder wall. It did stick, and the cylinders have 11 fins and the axial rib. Nikasil.
