2.7 rebuild oil entering the crank case

Hi Gentleman-

Im inquiring on behalf of a dear friend, a retired porsche mechanic who at his wits end, on why he is encountering oil in the crank case after a complete 2.7 rebuild. He build up this sweet 2.7 all new components, updated oil pump ect. Sure would be great to have your thoughts on what we have missed.

Thanks for your time.

I'm not sure if I understand your question. Where specifically do you have oil that is undesirable?

ARCS,

Post some pictures where the problem occurs. Your description of the problem is very difficult to assess or understand. Did you mean oil leak? "encountering oil in the crankcase" is probably a poor description of the problem. Keep us posted.

Puzzled like others. There is always oil in the crank case (unless you are out of oil), and after you shut off the engine you get more oil as the engine sits. Gravity pushes oil from the tank through the pump aand out the pump pickup and shaft ends into the crankcase, which is why we have to drain oil from two places when doing an oil change.

Do you mean excess oil? Huge puffs of smoke every time you start the motor?

If the guy is a Porsche mechanic he really shouldn't have a problem troubleshooting anything.

Forgive the poor description, I will gather more accurate information.
