Carrera 3.0
Bought a Carrera 3.0 Motor to rebuild.. back to stock...
Motor was partially disassembled.. most if not all parts are present. Just got the heads cleaned to see what I am working with... But, they are just TOO good.. think I might just stick them in a glass cabinet and look at them :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499669311.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499669322.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499669332.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499669341.jpg |
Looks like they were cleaned first and polished second.
Good luck with the rest. Bruce |
Amazing that they are the same parts. I am also in Brisbane.
Any chance of a link to where they were done? |

Here you go. Tell Ben I recommended him and he will look after you price wise. Mike D'Silva Vapour Blasting Brisbane | Wet Blasting in Brisbane |
We have a vapor blast machine. It sure makes things pretty.
Here's some aluminum motorcycle hubs I cleaned up.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499741805.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499741805.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499741805.JPG |
hmmm... when ordering replacement seals, bearings etc.. for a Carrera 3.0 motor, what car should I be selecting in the pelican parts menu?
The 77 year model lets me choose standard 911S with, I assume, mag case 2.7... and 78 model year goes straight to sC... Should I assume all gaskets, seals and o rings I need, are the same as for an SC? |
