installing gearbox bell crank after motor is installed?

got my motor finally dropped in! after toquing down the CV joints I noticed I'd forgotten to install the bell crank on the gearbox!

am I screwed? or is there a chance I can jack up the trailing arms and install?!

Throttle bell crank?
Sure, try to jack up the trailing arm or loosen the rear engine mounts to lower the engine a bit.

If it's the 78 SC you should have an Aluminum 915 transmission so you can remove the bellcrank stud from the transmission. Use an 8mm wrench on the end where the cotter pin goes through. Then just run it back in as an assembly (don't forget the inner bushing) and put some blue locktite on the threads on the way back in.

Careful, at least on a G50 trans fluid will leak out if you remove it.

915, I just disconnected the shock and safely jacked up the arm and it dropped right in. again be safe.

hmm, maybe I should try the jack stand method first ;) made a big enough mess here already.

got the bell crank installed and used the method with the 8mm to remove the post. the 915 is not threaded all the way though, FYI.
