Cam Thrust Plate Bolt Torque on 964
i have looked and looked and for some reason can not find this one specific torque figure. can someone help me out?
i thought i remembered from long ago is was about 7 lbs or so but i want to make sure thanks |
Hello - I was not able to find the torque specs for you in our 964 DIY section, but we are not carrying the Bentley Manuals which have all the repair procedures, including torque specs. I've included a link below if you're interested in the 964 version.
Technical Data Without Guesswork by Bentley Publishing, Porsche Carrera 964 1989-1994, Softcover - PelicanParts.com |
Dmitry, thanks for that but i do have the bentley manual, the porsche workshop manual, adrian's 964 companion, hayes manual, 101 projects etc etc
This specific torque value is not listed in any of them. I thought the rebuild manual said 7 lbs but i can not find that book. It's gotta be here somewhere ....... |
It shouldn't be any different than earlier engines and it's only a 6 mm bolt, so, tight but not too tight should work.

According to PFIXIT dvd... 7.5 ftlb...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1503006022.jpg

I used the P fix it torque setting after noting a M6 bolt 8.8 has the same generic rating elsewhere
