Lock nuts ?
Where can I find these all metal lock nuts that the factory uses? These are not the conical style. Belmetric doesnt show them, nor does McMaster-Carr. Also tried Metric Specialties.
Lots of them on my 964. Mainly M6

Open up the PET, do a search and get a part number. From there you can source where to find them.

Yes, they are 999-084-094-02 and are available from Porsche at crazy pricing, and the last batch were not even yellow cad. If there were not so many it wouldn't be a big deal.
Yes, I did find them to be called Prevailing Torque nuts. Bruce, unless, I'm missing something, the only ones I see at Boltdepot.com have a diagram that looks to be the conical style, which are not the same as what is in the photo. Or is that diagram not so accurate? Belmetric has conical too, and in yellow cad. The desired ones are like this: https://photos.app.goo.gl/8xQqkC1SLPsPYiOZ2 Conical are like this: https://photos.app.goo.gl/j0qd6oURbhZcBuJ63 Thanks !!!

I can find them for about $1.00, but I want to buy maybe 200 M6 and 100 M8 for a couple of cars. By comparison, the conical locknuts are about $0.33 ea. but trying to keep things as original as possible.

I would love to buy them from Pelican, but at $1.00 ea. it gets spendy.
RM European has them for $0.64. This is the best I can find here in the U.S. Was hoping to get them for well under $0.50 That pricing is getting a bit more reasonable. But if I buy 200 M6 and maybe 100 M8, for multiple projects, it adds up. I see this group may be the supplier, or one of them.. Nuts - Flaig und Hommel The "FS All Steel Lock Nut" or, for you German speakers, the "FS-Ganzstahl-Sicherungsmutter" !! I know my local shop would buy a bunch if they were at a good price. I found them at https://eu.shop.bossard.com/ch/de/, which is a distributor for Flaig-Hommel, but even there they work out to about 65 Euro for 100 count of M6. Amazing. Evidently these are not inexpensive nuts.

I don't think you will do any better than .64 in CONUS......
Either suck it up or use a different lock nut, I suppose. |
