List of Engine Builders?

If anyone has a list of known Porsche engine builders could you post it here.

In particular I am interested in 3.6 engine builders in the west or southwest.

Thanks

List of Engine Rebuilders

I'm in New Mexico, and I've got a '77 911S that I'd like to have the 2.7 rebuilt.. Where is bakersfield? :)

taoshummm 02-10-2003 07:16 PM

kpfoten - Kris - I believe that would be Bakersfield California - I am also in NM - Albuquerque - I was hoping to get a list of engine builders to compare

I dont know if you have checked with the specialists in ABQ - but that is who I am trying to find alternatives

send me a private email and I will share whatever I can with you

TaosHummm - what is that noise

Competition Engineering is in Bodfish, Calif. 1-760-379-3879
Walt, the owner, also has a web site

Dude, 2nd post - Walt's not located in Bodfish (wherever that is), he's in Lake Isabella...

I also recommend Walt - I think his engine assembly charge of $2500 is too cheap!

Please, for your sanity and financial health, avoid MM at all costs! I am sorry I did business with them.

Hmm, looking back at my post, I really come across like condescending jackass, and I certainly don't deserve the title of "master". I wasn't trying to be a jerk, I was trying to say in a funny way: "You may want to check the archives for MM before including them."

I guess I blew that one.

No such list is complete without Andial. Expensive, but the best generally is in that bracket...

It is shameful no one has mentioned Dawes Motorsport's or Peter Dawe. Peter has been awarded numerous times by Porsche as probably the only guy to ever engineer the best quality out of even some of the best they could produce, in other words Peter always gained the most horsepower and long lasting engines EVER!!! Too often people would lend their names to the work of Peter Dawe without giving credit to the genius behind the car that was ticking in the end of every race. Dawes Motorsport now peter and his son's Trevor and Kevin are The BEST in the World Period!
Having worked with Andial, the factory arm or racing support team, Peter was the first American to work for them when MARK DONAHUE was driving a car called a 917/30 and to this day Arnold, Deiter and Alwin would attest to Peter Dawes prowess and may God Bless the passing of Arnold.
Peter Dawe, Dawes Motorsport is the Best builder of Porsche Engines period!! Oh I forgot to mention he will also build over square engines with his own pistons and cylinders with alloys that are only available to the Aerospace industry, very cool stuff!!:D:rolleyes:
