engine spigot sizes

Does anyone have the fit sizes of the cylinders to the case spigots.

The 2.4L case seems to have a tremendous amount of clearance for the cylinders, but I know the later motors (2.7 and on) have a much tighter fit between the motor and the cylinders.

Does anyone have the spigot diameters and the cylinder OD sizes of the various motors.

Thanks

Ed

Got it. Did not even think to look there.

Thanks

Ed, when you look there, don't get confused by the fact that the 2.0 spigot size is mislabled as 2.2 in the caption. However, the spigots are the same size, so it's immaterial.

92.072-92.159mm (checks with original spec book p. 27)

Wayne, in case you are reading this thread, I really appreciate that you compiled all these data in one place for the Porsche community.

I ran across this thread while searching for spigot sizes. I have reviewed appendix A of Waynes' book, but must either be blind or caffeine-deprived and can't find the info. What page is the spigot diameter info on?

Never mind - I am a caffeine-deprived idiot with poor eyesight. Info appears on page 210.

Just for anyone who stumbles across this in the future... what we are calling spigot size, appears on Pg 210 of Appendix A under the heading of "Piston ring & outer cylinder wear measurement" under the sub-heading of "Cylinder outer base diameter to crankcase".
