Blown fuse
Hi guys,
I'm not sure if thins the correct forum for this question. My wife's 88 Carrera is not driven during the summer months. I got it ready for her to start driving it again and now it is blowing the radio fuse which also powers the the power seats and the A/C. The first fuse to blow was a 16 Amp. When installing the se cord fuse I noticed that it is supposed to be an 8 Amp fuse so that is what I installed. I put in a new 8 Amp fuse and it lasts a few minutes and it blows again. Can anyone suggest some points where to start checking? Thanks, Bill. |
Check the wiring on the seats, some time a wire will fray and cause short.
Do Not place a higher amp fuse or you may burn the wiring. The other thing would be to replace the fuse block #1, if the resistance is found to be too high but first check the wiring underneath the seats. |
