primary oil pump broke off in crankcase
996 911 3.4l
my primary oil pump broke off in my crankcase (see photo). 3 questions 1. can anyone think of a way to get this out without going back to square 1 and disassembling the engine? 2. putting it on seemed pretty straightforward. never even crossed my mind that this might give me fits. I basically tapped it on to get it going and started working around four sides of it tightening a little at a time. It did seem snug but I was thinking that made sense. I am wondering how to do this process differently in the future and where I went wrong. |

![]() Here is the photo and yes it is a 996. I already started disassembling because I thought I might do more harm by some other method. I am curious as to where I went wrong on this. |
