1986 carrera Piston

undecided
..I have 40,000 miles on my 3,2L and it need to replace possible bent connecting rod
I thought maybe ,I may as well to upgrade the piston and cam at the same time ..
,it is worth getting the Euro 95.5mm piston or just keep the stock us version.... for sure later next year I may want go PMO ITB
I do now have the header and tune muffler

I'm going with the Euro version and Web Cam as soon as I start her open heart surgery.

I would do the 3.4 98mm cylinders because the JE pistons are cut for the more aggressive cams for your future injection.

I heard that the JE piston only good for 50000 miles before due for rebuilt plus there are very limit cams spec you can use on those JE piston

Old wives tale. Maybe 50K miles of track time? Maybe JE pistons made 30 years ago?

I don’t know how there would be a limit on the cams available, talking about limited, Carrera pistons will be limited.

I mean to say the only drawback the JE piston design are limits camshaft selection in higher performance applications.

Not sure where you are getting this info.

You could talk to John Daugherty or Web cams if you are concerned.

I'm running JE 9.5 to1 95mm pistons in my SC with some pretty big cams. Not a problem.

I'm curious about the "possible bent connecting rod"
Damn hard to do.
