Conflicting info

Hi,
I have 1976 911 2.7l.
I've checked few sites and manuals and getting conflicting info on the head studs and valve housing torque specs.
I'm doing few things on the car and will be doing valve adjusted and since there I want to re torque the head studs and valve housing bolts.

I appreciate the input.

Thank you

You have a catch 22 going for you.
Retorquing the heads, if the magnesium is weak, you’ll pull studs and need to insert the case with a dis assembly and freshen up.
There is no short cuts because the drilling and tapping produces chips and dust
You won’t find looseness in the cam carrier to the heads.
The heads torque to twenty five ft/lb

I believe the previous owner upgraded the head bolts, is there any way to confirm visually?
Thank you.

Difficult to see but you might be able to get a thin magnet through there to see if it still has the original steel studs, which are actually pretty good. Torque spec for the nut is indeed 25.

The head studs are not the problem; the engine case threads are the real issue. :) The 2.7 uses steel studs which never frail.

I would NOT retorque them; if you want to know if a stud has pulled, you can VERY GENTLY see if the nuts are tight (this takes a deft touch!).

How gently? With a torque wrench or without?

If the studs are pulled, the nuts will be finger loose. You need a Tem mil Allen and virtually no torque
